20th Annual Beatles Month Virtual -
Center for Spiritual Living Central Texas

All Sunday talks based upon Beatles Lyrics
with live performances by Austin’s best.

Using the songs of the Beatles is a great way to connect spiritual concepts with what I consider spiritual music,” Brewer, a musician himself, explains. “It’s been a great way to make the principles we teach here at the Center accessible to everyone in the community.”

Beatles Month grew out of the advice of one of Brewer’s mentors to give an annual series of talks with a theme. Nineteen years later, Beatles Month is still going strong, and with a plethora of songs to choose from, Brewer remarked, “it’ll be a long time before we have to go back and repeat one from the early years!”

The final Sunday, September 6th, the series will feature a Taize service – a contemplative, experiential sharing with readings and a sing along to your favorite Beatles songs.

Based upon the practices of the Taizé Community, the service features a free flowing experience melding singing, readings, music, meditation, and spiritual connection with one another described by Center members as “both moving and quite introspective.”

THE CENTER

The Center for Spiritual Living Central Texas was founded in 2001 by Minister Walt Brewer
and relocated to Central Austin in 2012.

The Center teaches the principles of Science of Mind, originally expressed by Dr. Ernest Holmes. At its core, Science of Mind teaches that each person has the power to change their experience by changing their thinking. New thoughts lead to new experiences. Imagining something greater in our lives leads to greater awareness of the possibilities that come before us.

We are a spiritual community that is neither religious nor dogmatic and proudly wear the label “Not Your Mama’s Church!” We don’t teach you what to think, we give you the tools to learn how to think for yourself so that you can change your life for the better and change all Life for the better in the process.
